  Affectionately "Miss Wiglet"

I am at a loss for words.
She was the constant in my life.
The only thing "that was".

It came so sudden, if you can call it that.
She was just a bit stiff in her joints...
Then, over night
It hit her.

She lost all dignity...
All quality of life.

Her back legs just wouldn't support
Her precious little weight anymore.

And with a deep down bone-tired weariness
She looked at me... and I knew it was time.

I cannot tell you the utter despair I felt...
the leaden heart.

So we toddled off to the vet... with tears on my face.
Just to make sure... that I wasn't imagining things,
Or that she didn't have a virus... or something.

Alas, it wasn't to be.
My darling little Miss Wiglet... her wasted little muscles...
I wished with all my might that she was again 5.

We spent the most glorious week together.

Wandering around... nowhere in particular.
Having feasts of cornflakes and milk.
And schmakos in between.
Drinks a bucket in length... without worrying about the consequences.
Long snuggles... and damn the hot weather.
Lots of kisses... on her smooth, little cheek.

Oh, whatever her little heart desired.

At that very end,
I hugged her little body,
And kissed her precious little face...
The hardest thing I have ever had to do.
Protecting and seeing her
to Rainbow Bridge.

Sunset, taken 24th January... my best sunset in WA.
Almost as if she knew, and put on the best ever...
Shining and twinkling in the clouds.

The loss will never diminish.

My precious little Angel...
Now the brightest little Star in the sky.

Downline, Thalia is the proud mum, grand mum, and great grand mum
of 8 champions and 2 grand champions
(namely Bundy and Richman - who are consistent Best in Show winners).
